C. Andrew HeadC. Andrew Head joined CROWLEY CLARIDA & HEAD LLP in 2004 from his position as a litigation partner with the Atlanta office of Holland & Knight LLP. As a trial lawyer for more than a decade, he has conducted jury and non-jury trials involving employment and employee benefit claims, commercial disputes, and tort claims, and has also successfully resolved litigation through alternative dispute resolution in various forums.

Mr. Head brings to the firm over 10 years of experience in the full range of employment matters, including employment discrimination claims (Title VII, § 1981, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, etc.), individual and collective action overtime and compensation disputes (Fair Labor Standards Act), employee benefit claims (ERISA), employment contracts,trade secrets and covenants not to compete. He has negotiated and litigated executive compensation agreements, shareholder agreements, and ERISA benefit disputes. A frequent faculty speaker and author for continuing legal education seminars on various issues of employment law, including employment discrimination and covenants not to compete, his employment law articles have been published in various employment law and human resources publications, including the Georgia Labor Letter. He is a Contributing Author for The Fair Labor Standards Act Cumulative Supplement, ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law and BNA Cooks (2007 and 2008).

Mr. Head's commercial and tort litigation practice involves corporate negligence actions, FELA litigation, commercial disputes, trade secrets, and litigation arising from business acquisitions and dissolutions.

A former co-chair of the Federal Seminar and Amicus Curiae Committees of the State Bar of Georgia's Appellate Practice Section, Mr. Head has argued multiple appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the appellate courts of the State of Georgia.

Mr. Head earned his B.A. cum laude in 1991 from Vanderbilt University, with a double major in English and Political Science. He earned his J.D. in 1995 from the Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he was a member of the Executive Council of the Vanderbilt Moot Court Board and received the K. Harlan Dodson Moot Court Award. Mr. Head was honored with admission to the Bleckley Inn of Court in 2000 as a Barrister.

Mr. Head has been named to Georgia Trend magazine's "Legal Elite," a list of leading Georgia attorneys chosen by their peers in the legal community, for Labor & Employment Law in 2005, 2007, and 2008. To compile the "Legal Elite" list, Georgia Trend distributed ballots to several thousand members of the state bar association which were then tallied by the Georgia Trend editorial staff, resulting in a list of 275 attorneys named in 10 practice areas. Mr. Head was also recognized as a Georgia "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics and Atlanta Magazine in March, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 based on the assessment and commendation of his peers in the legal community.

A practicing member of the Georgia Bar since 1995, Mr. Head is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Lawyer’s Club of Atlanta. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, and all trial and appellate courts of the State of Georgia.
